A fun summer of games and adventure awaits at Alexander County Library and Bethlehem Branch with “On Your Mark, Get Set…READ!” the summer reading program.
Dates: June 19 – August 6, 2016
Ages: Birth to 18, but there will also be a program for adults
Requirements: None, but readers can record time and report minutes read. Programs are optional and free to attend.
Reading time levels will be noted on the wall at each library. Each participant who attends a program or reports time read will receive a goody bag and this year’s stadium cup.

The campers wrote, illustrated, and created music for the movie to highlight the wonderful meals provided by the USDA’s Federal Feeding Program. Children 1 -18 years of age in Alexander County may have free meals at the locations listed here:
Teens – rising 8th grade to 2016 high school graduate – can participate in the Game On National Teen Lock-in on Friday night, July 29, 2016. Reserve your spot by July 22. You can watch a fun video about the national activities:
